Terms of service.
What you get, what it costs, how to stop paying for it, and what we do and don't promise. In plain words, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
LAST UPDATED 28 JULY 2026
The short version
Overthrow Disc Golf LLC (“Overthrow”, “we”) sells two things: the Academy, a self-paced video program, and 1-on-1 Coaching, where a coach reviews your throws. You pay monthly or yearly, you can cancel any time and keep access until the period you paid for ends, and the coaching is real human judgment rather than a promise about your score. Using the site, the app or a subscription means you accept what follows.
Your account
You need an account to subscribe. Keep your login to yourself — accounts are for one person, and sharing one is the main thing that will get it closed. Give us an email address you actually read; it is how we reach you about your subscription. You must be 13 or older to have an account, and if you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission.
The Academy
The Academy is a library of video lessons and drills covering the backhand and the forehand, with progress tracking. New courses are added as the program grows — what exists today is what you are buying today, and we don't promise a specific future course on a specific date.
The free trial
The Academy comes with a 7-day free trial. Signing up asks for a card up front. Cancel before the seven days are up and the paid subscription never starts and you are not charged. Leave it running and it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown when you signed up. The trial is one per person, and it applies to the Academy only.
What the Academy does not include
The Academy does not include personal form reviews. Nobody watches your throws on an Academy plan. Reviews come with a coaching plan.
1-on-1 Coaching
On a coaching plan you send video of your throws and a coach responds with feedback — marking up your video and telling you the one thing to change next. Which coach and which tier you are on is set when you subscribe, and you can change it yourself from your profile.
What each tier includes
Monthly is one review a month. Weekly is one review a week. Elite is everything in Weekly plus two live one-on-one lessons a month over video. Coaching plans include full Academy access.
Review windows do not stack up
A review window opens on a schedule — every 7 days on Weekly and Elite, every 30 on Monthly. If you don't send anything in a given window, that review does not roll over or bank for later. The system enforces this, so you will see when your next window opens. It works this way because a coach's time is the product, and it is reserved whether or not you use it.
Turnaround
Reviews usually come back within a few business days, and normally no more than five. If it has been longer, email mikey@overthrowdiscgolf.com and it will get chased. Things occasionally back up; nothing gets lost on purpose.
There is no coaching trial
The 7-day free trial is for the Academy. Coaching plans do not come with a trial period.
Paying, renewing and cancelling
Subscriptions bill in advance at the price shown at checkout, and renew automatically each period until you cancel. Payments are handled by our billing provider; we never see your full card number. If a payment fails we may pause access until it clears.
To cancel: profile → Manage plan → cancel. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that. If you can't find the option, email us and it gets done the same day. You do not have to talk to anyone to cancel.
We can change prices, but not the one you are already on: an existing subscription keeps its rate while it stays active. A price change affects new sign-ups, and if we ever change what you are paying we will tell you by email first and you can cancel before it applies.
Refunds
We do not advertise a blanket money-back guarantee, and we would rather be honest about that than promise something we haven't committed to. If something has gone wrong — you were charged after cancelling, billed twice, or a coaching plan simply hasn't delivered what it says here — email mikey@overthrowdiscgolf.com and we will sort it out. Where the law where you live gives you a refund right, that right applies regardless of anything on this page.
The lessons are yours to watch, not to share
Your subscription is a personal, non-transferable licence to watch the videos and use the drills for your own training, for as long as you are subscribed. Everything in the program — the videos, the writing, the drills, the Overthrow name and mark — stays ours.
Please don't download, re-upload, screen-record, resell or redistribute the lessons, share your login, or use the material to teach paying students of your own. Coaching your buddy at the course with what you learned is the entire point and is obviously fine.
The video you send us
Clips you send for review stay yours. You give us permission to store them and to have your coach watch, mark up and respond to them — that is what makes coaching work — and nothing more. We will not use your footage in marketing, on the YouTube channel, or anywhere public without asking you first and getting a yes. See the privacy policy for how it is stored and how to have it deleted.
Only send video you have the right to send. Don't send footage of other people who haven't agreed to it, and don't send anything unlawful.
Coaching is judgment, not a guarantee
We will give you our honest read on your throw. We can't promise a distance number, a rating, a tournament result, or that any particular fix will work for your body. Disc golf is a physical sport and coaching is opinion, not instruction you are obliged to follow.
Every sport carries a risk of injury and disc golf is no exception. Throwing is demanding on shoulders, elbows and backs. We coach technique — we have never promised injury-free coaching and nobody honestly can.
We are not doctors or physical therapists, and nothing we say is medical advice. If something hurts, if you are carrying an injury, or if you have a medical condition, see an actual medical professional — that conversation is outside what a throwing coach is qualified to have. Warm up, build up gradually, and use your own judgment about what your body can take. You take part at your own risk.
Behaving reasonably
Don't abuse your coach or anyone else in chat, don't try to break into parts of the service you haven't paid for, don't scrape or hammer the site, and don't upload anything harmful. We can suspend or close an account that does. If we close your account for something you did, you are not owed a refund for the rest of the period; if we close it for our own reasons, you are.
Availability
We try to keep everything up but we don't promise the site, the app or video playback will be available without interruption. Parts of the service depend on others — video hosting, our billing provider, the app stores — and those can have bad days. We may change or retire features as the program develops. If we ever shut the service down entirely, we will give you notice and stop billing you.
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before whatever went wrong.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change materially affects what you are paying for, we will email you before it takes effect so you can cancel if you disagree.
Which law applies
Overthrow Disc Golf LLC is a Virginia limited liability company. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts of Virginia. None of that takes away consumer rights the law where you live gives you and does not let us sign away.
