Connect TechDisc.

How to get your TechDisc throws into the Overthrow Academy app, and what to check when they stop arriving.

What you need

A TechDisc disc, the TechDisc app on your phone, a TechDisc subscription and an Overthrow Academy membership. Your TechDisc API key comes with the subscription, and Overthrow uses that key to read your throws.

Connect it

  1. Go to techdisc.com/settings and copy your API key.
  2. In Overthrow, open TechDisc and paste the key.
  3. Open the TechDisc app, turn its sounds off and leave it running.

Your throws now show up in Overthrow.

Android: keep TechDisc running

Android pauses apps in the background to save battery, and TechDisc then stops sending throws until you open it. Set the TechDisc app's battery to Unrestricted so Android lets it keep running.

Most phones

  1. Press and hold the TechDisc app icon, then tap App info.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Choose Unrestricted.

Google Pixel and stock Android

  1. Open Settings, then Apps, then All apps.
  2. Tap TechDisc, then Battery.
  3. Choose Unrestricted.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Open Settings, then Apps, then TechDisc.
  2. Tap Battery and choose Unrestricted.
  3. Go back to Settings and open Battery and device care (on some phones, Battery), then Background usage limits.
  4. Make sure TechDisc is not under Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps, or add it to Never sleeping apps.

Other phones

The wording varies by maker. Open the TechDisc app's App info, look for Battery, and choose Unrestricted, Don't optimize or Allow background activity.

iPhone

Open the TechDisc app and leave it running in the background. Don't swipe it away.

Throws not showing up?

  1. Check that the TechDisc app shows the throw.
  2. If it does and Overthrow does not, it is usually the Android battery setting above.
  3. Check your key. In Overthrow, open TechDisc and tap the line under the title that says Connected or Paused. Tap Disconnect TechDisc, then paste the key from techdisc.com/settings again.
